![]() On a side note, does anyone know of some other people who have done similar things such as speed runs? If so, please leave a comment, and would you try something like that–if you would, what faction would you be? Personally I would be the Brutii, but I would probably need a few more turns in order to gain the popularity in order to take on Rome. What I want people to get out of this is that I think Rome II will be an awesome game, but I am skeptical about the turnout of some of the decisions made by the company, and am really hoping to see some of the campaign map before the launch to better gauge how the game will play. Discussions, strategies, stories, crude cave-drawings, and more for Medieval 2, Empire, Shogun 2, Rome 2, Attila, Thrones of Britannia, Warhammer, Three Kingdoms, Troy, Pharaoh and others. ![]() I like complex systems, which take some figuring out and time to plan a strategy if I really wanted to play something super simple with limited options, I would play a different game. A subreddit for the Total War strategy game series, made by Creative Assembly. I have never played it, but I hear that a lot of the elements that made the game complex have been removed, and that worries me. In Rome 2 meanwhile you can conquer your entire continent and not even be 35 done. I think there was one or two non-Grand Campaign factions listed in the Rome 2 Hardest Starts video CA did when Desert Kingdoms came out too, so perhaps worth a look. Also to consider in this is the success and failure of the last few Total War games–mainly Shogun 2. It wasnt a terribly hard start, and didnt get really hard until mid-game, and by endgame I was facing off against t2/3 armies with my crappy t1 armies. Hi, I was looking for a challenge, so what is, according to you, the hardest faction to start with I mean, including the Grand campaign, Caesar in Gaul and Hannibal at the Gates. Rome in Caesar in Gaul is a real challenge. Hardest campaign I played was as Rome, using only Roman/Italian units (no auxilia except Socii) but no legionaries (rorarii/vigiles, velites, sagitarrii etc only). Rome has a pretty hard start and a challenging mid game. The Greeks of Syracuse and Taras are probably the most vanilla, and end up pretty easy thanks to powerful hoplites and navies. Tarchuna has really different building schemes and the Iolei are an Uber ambush faction. Yet while the grand campaign delivers a total of 36 factions (which is no mean feat), there is a total of 42 throughout the others (Empire divided, Rise of the republic ect).Īre any of those factions worth a try for an experienced player looking for a challenge? Does anyone remember a particular campaign which messed them up? RotR has some unique mechanisms for a Rome 2. Nguyên văn bởi bill.stevens:Within the main campaign, the overwhelming consensus is that Carthage, Epirus, Odrysian kingdoms, and various nomadic factions provide the greatest challenge. ![]()
